What is NALS of Washtenaw?



NALS of Washtenaw (formerly the Washtenaw County Association of Legal Support Professionals) is an organization established to:

  • Promote professionalism and ethics among its members;
  • Encourage respect and knowledge of the law;
  • Promote the exchange of knowledge and ideas;
  • Develop friendships and set up networking links through the country.

  • Monthly Meetings

    Dinner meetings with informative speakers on law-related and timely topics, held the second Tuesday of each month, except for the joint meeting with the Bar Association.

    Seminars

    Educational seminars and workshops for law office personnel.

    Scholarships

    Annual scholarships awarded to exceptional students interested in pursuing a career in the legal field.

    Certified PLS

    A 7-part, comprehensive, 2-day examination which certifies that a secretary is qualified to do work which may be required in any size law office. Members receive a discount rate on the examination. A three-year work experience is required to sit for this exam.

    Accredited Legal Secretary (ALS)

    New certification for members/non-members with less than three years of experience.
