You may have received a mailing announcing the new Timeslips Deluxe Version 8. If you have not received the announcement, or you’ve received it and aren’t sure you want to upgrade, here are some facts and features about Version 8 that should help you.
Good News for Network Users
With Timeslips 8, users may edit slips while another user is preparing a bill or report. Users may also turn the timer on or off while reports and bills are printing. These settings are optional, in case you prefer the more restrictive approach of earlier versions.
Multiple Character Styles!
You may now format slip descriptions and other text in bold, italics, and underscored, or any combination thereof.
Billable and Non-billable Time on a Single Slip!
An expanded slip value window in Timeslips 8 includes a panel for allocating a portion of the slip as Do Not Bill time. No more copying and editing slips to create unbillable portions!
Adjustments by Activity
Do you need to enter adjustments by activity instead of by timekeeper? You can now do this with Timeslips 8. For example, you are an accountant and would like to adjust the tax preparation portion of bill to one of your clients by 10%. With Timeslips 8, just enter a single adjustment transaction for the client, selecting the Tax Preparation as the activity for adjustment.
Slip AdjustmentsYou can have even more control over adjustments with the new "slip adjustment" feature. (See markup or markdown and adjustments panels in Slip Value window in Figure 2.)
Expanded Text Searching
With Timeslips 8 you can now search for text strings contained in slips and client information (name and address, notes, in reference to, custom fields), and transactions. With this facility, you can run a conflict check on your Timeslips database.
