Exercise – Adding a Client to Time Matters and Printing the Client List

We will do these steps together:

1.        Use the Windows Start menu to Open the Time Matters to the Training Mode. (Start, Programs, Time Matters, Training Mode).

2.        Enter TM as the login and password.

3.        Update the sample data, if prompted.

4.        Close the Alerts, Reminders and Watches window.

5.        Open the Contact list.

6.        How can you tell which contacts are clients?

Do the next steps on your own.

7.        Add yourself as a client.  (Hint:  Look at the buttons on the small toolbar above the contact list.) 

7.1.                  Enter your Full Name in this format in the first box: First M. Last. 

7.2.                  Notice what happens after you enter your full name.  Use RSB as the Staff. 

7.3.                  Complete the rest of the top section of the form, but skip Mat Ref, the checkboxes and Status box.  (Hint:  Hover the mouse over a box to see a quick tip describing what goes in the box.)

7.4.                  Complete address portion of area 2.  Skip the other Areas.

7.5.                  Save and Close the new contact record.

 

8.        Set the Contact list to show Clients only.

9.        Press CTRL+T to tag all of the Clients.

10.  Print the Client list.  (Hint: Look at the buttons on the small toolbar).  Use List Format – Custom for the report format and preview the client list before printing.

11.  Your name should appear on the client list.

12.  Write your name on the top of the report, also.

13.  Turn the report in before leaving.
